A recent article has linked use of Statin Drugs to a 30% increase in Diabetes. The drugs are already unpopular due to a number of other side effects – such as joint pain – such that a large number of people who are prescribed them do not take them. The real tragedy is that many or most people with high cholesterol can be treated without drugs if they lower their BMI below 25, exercise and treat themselves through diet and nutrition. This is just another example of how lifestyle and not drugs are the real answer to good health.
