Statins for Cholesterol Not the Answer

Statins for Cholesterol Not the Answer

This excellent article many excellent points are made. Statins cause many onerous side effects. And high cholesterol in and of itself does not necessarily mean increased risk. I saw a patient earlier this week who had been given statins by his family doctor even though he has a NORMAL cholesterol simply because he is older. I’m sure the doctor meant well but this is clearly not a good idea. As a society we are grossly overmedicated and this is just one more example.
